About

Inecko is a consultancy that combines strategy consulting and local economic development, to support and scale green and circular innovation. We are guided by short- and long-term value creation and by the necessary embeddedness of projects within local contexts.

Inecko assists any organisation willing to get green/circular initiatives or ventures off the ground. We offer the combination of these 2 competencies to provide:

  • Economic and financial assessments

  • Commercial uptake and execution strategy

  • Economic outcomes measurement, evaluation and advisory

  • Local and regional economic development

Working with all types of public or private organisations we:

  • Model costs, revenue and profitability for green and circular innovations, assess and size target markets, provide strategic advisory

  • Harness local ecosystems and secure local adoption, provide operational advisory, initiate and ensure execution, assess feasibility and local acceptability

  • Quantify and interpret economic outcomes* (notably to secure broad local support), maximise these gains in the short and long term

  • Deliver local/regional economic development strategies that are both practical and structural, based on existing capacities

Our work contributes to immediate job and revenue creation. It also aims at embedding durable value addition locally. We therefore spur structural local economic development drivers: innovation capacities, skills, cooperations and knowledge transfers.

We trigger collaborations based on concrete products, focusing on their quality and intensity. This also includes unexpected connections, which develop unique and sought-after know-how.

We can partner with reputable technical or scientific consultancies where needed.

Lastly, we see green-digital transition value chains as largely interdependent, forming techno-economic 'megatrends'. Aligning with these unlocks economic and commercial gains while contributing to their deployment.

In nine years of activity Inecko has:

  • Delivered 30 distinct studies in support of 13 green innovation projects for public and private clients: local authorities, state agencies, corporates including state railways, developers, commercial port, private equity funds, consultancies

  • Carried out 17 assessment missions for the European Commission innovation programmes

  • Conducted 328 quantitative and qualitative interviews (300+ hours, ~15-20 per project), including 209 with businesses or SMEs (recycling, reuse, civil engineering, construction, deconstruction, agriculture, logistics, work integration, concrete, equipment manufacturers, quarries, catering …)**, and 17 in-person or online surveys (2053 respondents)

  • Supported the establishment of 58 profitable green/circular value chains with on average EUR 1.7M turnover and 26.4% EBITDA margin

  • Contributed to the creation of 1 380 jobs, 32.8 M€ net salaries, 37.8 M€ sales revenue, 13.6 M€ local tax, and the rejuvenation of 21 500 industrial square metres with 16 SMEs, including in post-industrial regions

Based in London and Paris, Inecko operates in the UK, EU and globally. Our deliverables are clear and visually appealing without compromising on content. We never start any project without a deep understanding of our clients' objectives while our approach is flexible, proactive and solutions-seeking.

* Proprietary model for quantifying economic impacts (employment, wages, income, value added, tax revenues), measuring direct, indirect and induced effects, as well as activity created and displaced.

** This proven expertise in engaging with company leaders greatly facilitates the process. The extensive network built over nice years of activity is a further advantage.
