Local uptake and operational strategy

Why

Circular economy markets are by nature close to production units, this is also frequently the case for broader green or collaborative economy. Given that it has to be adopted by potential buyers and broader economic players, the success of an innovative proposition is strongly dependent on its imbrication within the local area. This fit is simply unavoidable.

Our contribution

We prepare and kickstart local uptake, through close interactions with future clients, understanding their needs and expectations. We harness local ecosystems (SMEs, startups, large groups, public organisations and agencies, local authorities, universities, research centres, innovation networks, professional networks, accelerators...), which triggers tangible momentum in support of projects. Based on these cooperations, we provide operational and strategic advisory including risk analysis.

Complementing market analysis, this approach engages concrete, genuine collaborations with operators and future clients. This ensures perfect imbrication of a product with its markets, of a project with its area, and its organic adoption by local players.

We also provide feasibility (regarding suppliers, skills) and acceptability (within dwellers, local associations) studies.

Methodology

After careful delineation of the considered values chains and relevant geography, we engage with potential buyers and gather their level of interest, in addition to their assessment, perspectives, advice, whether operational or strategic. We implement semi-directed interviews and online surveys, as to collect as many responses as possible, and consult other ecosystem players following the along the same lines. We process data and extract operational and immediately actionable results.

For example

For SEDDINOVE, we led in-depth discussions with potential clients of a sand made of seafloor sediments (11 concrete manufacturer or roadworks companies), as well as other players (quarries, engineering and materials consultancies). We assessed the project pertinence, potential interest from off-takers, identified barriers and drivers, provided operational and strategic advice meant to ensure local adoption. These close collaborations and inputs were instrumental in the subsequent very successful adoption by local off-takers.
